1. Administration

1. Read the rules (even if you are only organizer)

2. Register comp with your AIDA national (approval).

3. Register comp with calender_aida@yahoogroups.com

(save confirmation) At least 14 days in advance).

4. Keep a competition web page updated.

5. Secure dive site (boat traffic, currents, visibility, permission?)

6. Send results lists to divided into male/female and by discipline

(calendar@aida-international.org)

Full name, nationality, sex, discipline, AP, RP, penalties, total points, remarks (DQ reason). 7. Pay AIDA 2 euro per athlete (bank@aida-international.org)

8. Send out press release with results to local media.

2. Personnel needed

- Two E-judges

- A medic (with apnea experience and preferably with intubation skills)

- Three safety freedivers minimum.

(two extra for every 90 minutes, one extra for every extra w-u line)

- Judge camera man

- Line man adjusting rope

- Shouter (counting down) (can be done by one of the above)

- Scuba safety at surface ready to drop (technical diver, that understands freediving)

- Shore coordinator (60 min check in)

- Catering responsible

- Transport crew (medic vehicle).

- Result reporter (excel sheets)

- Speaker (optional)

3. Equipment needed

- Platform, buoys or boat

- Transport to dive site

- Emergency oxygen device

- First aid equipment

- Oxygen on demand (deco for dives 80+)

- Judge camera (extra batteries/tapes) MPEG quality can be enough.

- Evacuation vehicle (car and or boat)

- Rope 8mm +

- Bottom plate (where lanyards can not entangle)

- 10-20 kilo led bottom weight (min 15 for FIM).

- Anti-ballast weight 10+20 kilo (bottom weight counter + drop weight)

- 1-2 warmup lines with 10 kilos minimum

- Tags (preferably soft with soft velcro on both sides) minimum 15 pcs

- Two lanyards (waist attachment for CNF)

- Walkie talkies and/or mobile phone

- 50 meter measure tape

- Pulley and "electrical" tape (for measuring rope)

- Stopwatch

- Splash proof board for start list.

- Anti ballast release system (spinnlock or quick release)

(Judge gear)

- Similar color on safety freedivers (T-shirt?)

- Crew catering (food/water)

- PC and XLS program

- Duck tape and knife

- Big screen for judge camera protest review

- Bottom camera (optional)

- Depth sounder (optional)

- Low water level platform for handling BO athlete.

- Have private room for protest and video review.

4. Logistics / Set-up dive site

1. Set all clocks on official time

2. Check weather the night before and in the morning.

3. Have a athlete/judge meeting with rules discussion.

4. Crew arrives 90 minutes before top (if dive site is ready)

5. First athlete arrive 60 minutes before top

6. First warm-up 45 minutes before

7. Check anti ballast operation

8. Do safety drill (pick up from depth with BTT and removal of "body" out of water.

9. Always use starter before first athlete

10. Start every 7 minutes for a professional team (8 minutes is safer).
